Your information, explained

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Tulugo ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Tulugo mobile app and website. Tulugo helps people discover places, food, events, creators, stories, Tulu learning, and matrimony in Tulunadu.

For privacy questions or requests, contact tulugonad@gmail.com.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, provide app features, display submitted content, show relevant local information, save your preferences and progress, deliver notifications, manage subscriptions and listing requests, review submissions and reports, prevent misuse, and respond to support or privacy requests.

3. Sharing and service providers

Information you publish in reviews, events, or creator profiles can be visible to other users and, for public pages, website visitors. Matrimony details are shown through the matrimony features, subject to the access controls available there. Contact details included in published profiles or listings may be visible to others. Share only information you intend others to see.

We use providers to host the app's backend, store data and images, and deliver services. These include Supabase for storage and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications. These providers process the information needed to perform their services and may process it outside your country.

When advertising is enabled, Tulugo uses Google AdMob. Google's advertising SDK may collect IP addresses, device or advertising identifiers, diagnostic information, and ad interactions to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. Ad handling depends on device settings, consent where applicable, and the provider's practices.

Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from partner apps, and Supabase's Privacy Policy.

We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to investigate abuse, protect users, or secure our services. External websites, map apps, and social platforms opened from Tulugo handle information under their own policies.

4. Device permissions and local storage

You can manage permissions in your device settings. Declining a permission may limit the related feature. The app stores session credentials, preferences, cached information, and calendar references on your device. On supported devices, matrimony photo protection can detect screenshot or recording events and keep a limited local log to support privacy protections.

The website may load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives technical connection information such as your IP address when those fonts are requested.

5. Security and retention

We use measures such as password hashing, authenticated access, and access controls to protect information. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.

We retain account information and associated content while needed to provide the service. Retention also depends on the type of data, account status, and any security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Following a verified deletion request, data no longer needed for those purposes is deleted or anonymised. Records needed for those obligations may be retained for as long as the obligation applies; backup copies may remain until they are replaced through the backup lifecycle.

6. Your choices, account and data deletion

Visit Delete your Tulugo account for the steps to request account deletion and details of the data covered.

You can update available profile fields and preferences in the app and change device permissions in settings. To request access, correction, or deletion of your information, contact us.

To request deletion of your Tulugo account and associated data: email tulugonad@gmail.com with the subject "Tulugo account deletion request". Include your Tulugo username and registered email address or mobile number so we can locate your account. Do not send your password or an OTP.

You can also request deletion of specific data by describing what you want removed. We may ask you to verify account ownership before processing a request. Account deletion covers your account profile and associated personal information, subject to the retention reasons described above. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or information held by our services.

7. Children's privacy

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed, contact us so we can investigate and address the request. Do not submit personal information about a child in public profiles or listings.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Tulugo's features or practices change. The latest version will appear on this page with an updated date.
